OLD BUSINESS
Treasurer -
Need clarification of ASP Chapter Advisor for fund transfers. Mentioned that our advisor needs to sign off on spending. ASP funds are being used by Brandon and Beth for the Priest Lake Conference.
Inland Empire Section Rep -
Ben reported on the meeting from April 23. A hike was offered, but there was no interest. A bowling party is scheduled. Ben told them we are interested in volunteer opportunities, so they asked us to let them know more specifically what kind of volunteer opportunities we are considering. Idea themes suggested: Community Development, Learning experiences, Skill building. Ben will report back to them that between all of us, we will donate some volunteer time. There was also a suggestion by Ben that some Brown Bags be held on Riverpoint campus. IES meetings are held on the 4th Thursday of the month at Zola’s at 5:30. All ASP members are welcome to attend.

ASP Meeting Minutes - April 23, 2009

OLD BUSINESS:

Kelly needs to go to the bank with Drew to sign over responsibility. He will report next meeting.
Fundraising
Kay reported that we have a book with things to order, such as hoodies and t-shirts. Question is, do we have to pay for things first and be reimbursed, or can we be invoiced so EWU ASP account pays for it? The idea is to have merchandise in the display case window to sell for revenue. Lori mentioned that we should have merchandise available before Fall Quarter.
Idea – look at our alumni that have businesses in town. Ask if we can use their property for an event where we can raise money. Example, car wash.
Browne’s Addition Art Fair – have table advertising ourselves. Dinah will look into this.
Blog-Spot
Melissa asks we all visit the Blog-Spot between now and next meeting and bring ideas.
EWU ASE
We missed the last ASE meeting because it was moved to the week earlier. But we are still in good standing. Next meeting is May 15th (Wednesday), last one for the year. Kay volunteered to go.
ASP Bulletin Board
Melissa talked to Fred who said she should talk to ASE.
Planning Field Trips
Kelly has talked to Habitat for Humanity in Seattle but nothing has been set up yet. For Spokane shifts, shifts are either morning or afternoon. At the beginning of June there is a 2 week event in Spokane called BLITZ BUILD. They build a whole house in 2 weeks. Kelly will contact the coordinator for possible ASP group volunteer opportunity.
Cheney/Riverpoint Student Connection
Everyone bring a person to the meeting next month.

Everyone bring ideas for next month. Stephanie suggested a camping trip.

How to run our meetings
Do we want to run our meetings using Roberts Rules of Order? Do we want to form committees that meet separately and only the committee chair needs to attend the monthly ASP meeting for reporting?
We decided to run our general monthly meeting as close to Robert Rules of Orders as possible.
Our regular meeting will coincide with same night as the Inland Empire APA meeting which meets the 4th Thursday of the month @ Zola’s.

ASP Meeting Minutes - April 10, 2009

Establishing regular meeting schedule
Request was made that they are at Riverpoint Campus when undergrads are at Riverpoint for class. Preference is to have meetings after class. Time set for the rest of this quarter is the Last Thursday of the month @ 4:00 pm in the planning studio.
Fundraising
Shenelle suggested we could scoop ice cream at Chewelah Days on July 10-12, 2009. We could potentially raise $1,000. Kay also offered to volunteer for the fundraising committee.
T-Shirts
Kay has contacted Amy regarding ASP t-shirts. She presently has 30, via Action Sports. Price TBD.
Blog Spot

The amount you will be reimbursed will be based on the total reimbursement requests at the end of the academic year, and your participation level for Mardi Gras and the Chili Cook-Off.

Beth Mort, President, mentioned again for everyone to think about a movie series.
Zach Lunden, Inland APA Rep, reported that we can write a request for $400.00 to get a loan from the Inland Empire APA for the Mardi Gras.

ASP Meeting Minutes
October 23, 2008
Location: Planning Studio
Present at meeting:
Beth, Paul, Brandon, Melissa, Dinah, Jesse, Zach, Drew
The meeting began at 3:30 pm. Angie was not present but we have packets for her, which are located in the CEA office. We also need to get paperwork from Skylar regarding his Vice President position. Paul will handle getting these materials.
Reports of Officers:
Brandon Betty, WA APA Rep, reported that he went to the APA State Board Meeting. Next year the conference will be in Vancouver. The Vancouver Conference will be more expensive because of location and facility cost, however, they have agreed to put a cap on the fee for the conference so it will not exceed this years costs ($100 for students or $40 if you submit a poster). They have also decided to put together a structural sponsorship – to be implemented in 2010. They are creating a document called “Livable Washington” and have a committee statewide. If you’re interested in being a part of that committee, contact Jill Sterret at APA. Additionally, there is an online survey regarding topics given at next year’s conference that all APA members are encouraged to fill out.
Zach Lunden, Inland APA Rep, reported that he plans to attend the Inland Empire NW Chapter meeting on Oct. 23. He is on the agenda to discuss getting a gift basket from the Inland Empire NW Chapter for the chili cook off.
Drew Struttman, Treasurer, reported that our current balance is $781.45. We need to represent our club by attending the ASEWU meetings. By doing so, we will be included to receive automatic funding from ASEWU. The meeting schedule is below. Some of us have volunteered our time to attend the November and January meetings. The remaining meetings need volunteers.

Dinah Reed, Secretary, thanked everyone for nominating and making her secretary of ASP.
Paul Knowles, Vice President, reported that he is in good health and is ready to take over as President if necessary.
Beth Mort, President, reported that in her position she has the authority to delegate committees but wants everyone to understand that if they cannot handle workloads, to simply let her know and she will try to handle it in another way.
Chili Cook Off:
Melissa volunteered to contact Coeur d’Alene Brewing Company regarding beer/kegs donations or discounts for the event.
Joe will be the point person w/Rose for the event.
A deadline of Monday, November 3rd has been established for bringing your donations to Rose for the raffle/auction. Once donations are collected, ASP will determine if we will have a raffle or an auction, or a combination of both.

Paul will be the ASP connection to the fund raising committee. The committee will set $$ goals, set deadlines for events, determine how they are going to ask for money, and determine whom they are going to ask.
Speaker Series:
The idea was raised that in addition to Brown Bag events, we could host a speaker at someone’s home, with potluck, to make a less formal event.
Movie Series:
We would like to implement this idea, movies to consider: The Corporation and The Power of Community. Movie ideas are welcome. Location and times need to be determined. Ideas and suggestions about that are also welcome.

Important Announcement: PAC Meeting and Chili Cookoff

If you intend to bring chili (no beans is categorized as "Real" chili and chili with beans is "Pseudo" Chili) please let me know!
